Australian former cricketer and captain,Ricky Ponting, has dug out the unforgettable ‘monkeygate scandal’ In his memoirs — titled ‘The Close of Play’ –where he said he didn’t understand why Sachin Tendulkar vouched for Harbhajan Singh during the appeal hearing but did not say anything when match referee Mike Procter initially suspended the spinner for passing allegedly racial comments at the Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds.Harbhajan was accused of calling Symonds a monkey during the 2008 Sydney Test and was suspended for three Tests.Interestingly,Bhajji aka Harbhajan was cleared in an appeal hearing, conducted by Justice John Hansen from New Zealand, in which Tendulkar appeared as a witness and gave a statement in favour of Harbhajan.
Just a thought- Is it a norm that after finishing cricketing career, a cricketer has to write about his experiences? And to add on,he has to talk specifically about some controversial on-field incidents of the past?
Sachin Tendulkar, the cricket legend, the epitome of inspiration, the messiah of Cricket, the synonym to numerous cricket records has finally decided to put his weapons down. Sachin has finally decided that the 200th Test Match he is about to play in Mumbai ground is going to be his last formal game in International Cricket. Test was the only format where he had enrolled himself after retiring from One Day and all other shorter forms of Cricket. The cricketer declared he decided to retire as his heart says so.
Singer Sonu Nigam has filed a complaint with the police about getting threatening calls from Underworld Don Chotta Shakeel asking him to change the event management company handling his 2014 world tour.
Also the BCCI has rubbished the report claiming cricket legend,Sachin Tendulkar, being forced by BCCI to retire.
For cricket he used to train himself for each matches . For Parliament has he done so ? 😀
While there was news about Sachin willing to play the upcoming series with Pakistan,a sudden announcement made thereafter by the Batting Legend about his retirement from One-Day Cricket is shocking for both the set of people who argue in favour of Sachin playing till he wants and the ones who always felt its high time he quits.
Seems like ‘God’ has lost to the continuous bad patch and ageing issues, while playing, or is it the B.C.C.I. which has asked Master Blaster,Sachin Tendulkar,to declare his retirement, at least, from One-Day Cricket due to his and also Team India’s continuous deteriorating performance ?
Sachin retires from One-Day Cricket
No matter what, it is the end of a legacy in One-Day Indian and World Cricket because Sachin Tendulkar is irreplaceable !
