Uddhav Thackeray, the executive president of Shiv Sena and arch rival of MNS supremo, Raj Thackeray, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital after complains of chest pain and was discharged today. Raj had visited Uddhav in hospital twice and while returning home accompanied him as well. Raj,once part of Shiv Sena, formed his own party MNS in 2006, due to continued misunderstandings with Uddhav and some other party members supporting Uddhav. In the recent past, times have bought split hearts together and today was one more day to witness the same!
Speeches should not create bitterness among people- this was the message of the Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, indicating who he was talking about ! Raj Thackeray the MNS supremo , more popular for his open hate statements against North Indians, specially Biharis, had dared Nitish Kumar to come to Mumbai to celebrate Bihar-Divas. Soon news flashed that Raj Thackeray had given Green-Signal to Nitish’s visit after Nitish called him up and explained his visit was not political but just social gathering!
Once in Mumbai,at the Sommaiya Ground, Nitish not only initiated and ended his conversation in Marathi but also gathered praise of the listeners, both Biharis and non-Biharis. During his speech, he did not shy away from taking a dig at Raj Thackeray who had previously dared his entry in Mumbai !
Answering back to MNS’s threatening of not allowing Bihar Divas in Mumbai,Bihar Chief Minister , Nitish Kumar said he does not need a Visa to go to Mumbai.
Early, this month, both the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena had pledged support to each other’s mayoral candidates in the civic corporations of Thane and Nashik respectively. Raj Thackeray had extended MNS’s unconditional support for the mayoral candidate put up by the Shiv Sena in the Thane civic corporation and declared ” I am fulfilling Balasaheb’s wish.”
In response, Uddhav Thackeray publicly pledged his support to the MNS in forming the civic administration in Nashik, where it is leading.
Reminds of Raj’s statement given in media on 14th February, this year where he said he is willing to walk a hundred steps for Balasaheb.
Well, this is politics-No one is a permanent friend or enemy!
In a recent interview , Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray had made an open offer to rebel nephew , Raj Thackeray also the Supremo of MNS (another Sena, split out of Shiv Sena) to take a first step ahead and he is open to accept Raj back in Shiv Sena. The doors of Shiv Sena are always open for Raj provided he initiates.
Answering this Raj opened his heart out saying he could walk 100 steps for his uncle Bal Thackeray whom he claimed still respects very much and also declared his grudge against the functioning of Uddhav Thackeray , the son of the Shiv Sena Supremo and other Sena leaders! He explained about his services in Shiv Sena were only limited to addressing rallies prior to elections while key jobs were handled by others.
Well, this is not a hidden fact that Uddhav and Raj never got along with each other and hence it was Raj who had to take a call, either to be in the Shiv Sena and keep doing as being told or leave politics . However, he had other things in mind and hence floated his own party. The Unique Selling Point of the new party remained the same as the Sena’s where love for state of Maharashtra and Marathis were highlighted. The only difference was Shiv Sena with the advent of time since birth had become a little diplomatic as they had tied – up with national level parties while the new Sena , being a new – born baby and desperate to make its presence felt , has been aggressive towards portraying as a party just for Marathis.
Raj Thackeray has been following the footsteps of his uncle exactly , so far hence more than other opponent political parties , it’s the MNS which is becoming a bigger challenge for Shiv Sena as both share the common vote-bank of Marathi Manus.
Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray hinted about his open arms for nephew Raj Thackeray back in Shiv Sena provided Raj initiates the move. Also the Sena Supremo admitted that Marathi Manus votes are getting distributed between MNS and Shiv Sena because their split.
Well, it does not seem Raj Thackeray will ever get back to Sena.In fact he has already walked few steps ahead successfully with MNS, now being considered a strong political party throughout Maharashtra, within few years. However, the fact for now remains that the new baby born out of the Sena is making the Sena weak by eating up considerable number of Marathi Manus Votes of the Sena. In the process , its the NCP and Congress which are becoming stronger.
Politics on the basis of religion , caste and state is getting weaker in urban cities of India, thanks to the minimum level of literacy in these areas however a great part of India is still rural and easily gets influenced by all the political parties who under the blanket of well-wishers of particular religion ,caste or state , keep the flame of divide and rule alive throughout the nation.
