Keshubhai , the former Chief Minister of Gujarat and arch rival of Modi was being threatened by the BJP headquarters to stop commenting against Narenndra Modi , time and again . However, shocking the BJP and the nation, Keshubhai Patel has decided to take his fight against Modi to the next level by not only leaving BJP but also deciding to form a new political party in Gujarat, ahead of polls !
Narendra Modi, the Gujarat Chief Minister, who is being accused of playing a major negative role(accused of promoting violence against minorities) in the 2002 riots of Gujarat , is looking for a makeover of his image. He has suggested several amendments in law, right from electoral laws (to boycott candidates with records of communal violence)to laws of punishment for people spreading and involving in communal violence ! How decent ! 🙂
Vijay Darda, the Congress MP, has been facing severe criticism and media attention since he praised Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi , in a religious function attended by Mr Modi and Baba Ramdev along with Mr Darda. He addressed Modi as the lion of Gujarat and a religious saint. While the media and even Modi noticed his words and also commented that he is worried about how Congress is going to react listening to this statement from its own MP praising Modi !
As expected , once the news spread like wild-fire Mr Darda was seen busy explaining and justifying his statement for Modi and that he never referred Modi as a religious saint. He gave a funny reasoning, that addressing Modi as a lion was to criticize his involvement in 2002 riots of Gujarat and also to indicate BJP (and RSS) are held hostage by Modi in Gujarat(the political parties he belongs to).
No matter whatever points of sarcasm he may come up with , it is clear that he was actually praising Modi by addressing him as the king of Gujarat as that is what we mean when we use lion and tiger words for an individual!Funny is, all political parties are so scared of losing their reputation (which either ways none have) and their vote bank that they end up mocking themselves by defending or criticizing such small incidents !
As per Nitish Kumar , NDA needs a candidate for the post of Prime Minister who has a secular thought. Obvious enough Narendra Modi the aspirant from BJP does not fall in the category and the next available option would be Nitish himself, for NDA. His achievements as a Chief Minister and a ‘secular’ stamp in political world makes him a tough contender along with Narendra Modi to be considered for the post. But as one alliance cannot be represented by two candidates chances are that NDAs old ally JD(U) may split away. On the other hand BJP has almost cleared its stand on the Prime Ministerial Candidate issue by blindly supporting Narendra Modi and indicating his preference over Nitish for the PM poll.
Digvijaya Singh, the senior Congress Leader, has compared Gujarat Chief Minister,Narendra Modi to the demon king Ravana ! Ravana though had a prospering kingdom made of gold but he was equally proud of his achievements which brought him his end.Showing sympathy towards the forced exit of Sanjay Joshi from BJP due to Modi’s pressure,Digvijaya said Mr Modi should shun ego and pride.
Yesterday, addressing a public meeting in Rajkot, Gujarat’s Chief Minister,Narendra Modi, had reportedly said that Bihar, at one point of time, was a political and spiritual leader of the country, but it slipped into socio-economical backwardness ever since the casteist leadership took to centre stage !
Today , Bihar’s Chief Minister , Nitish Kumar counter-attacked by asking people to look at the condition of their own State which was clearly meant for Mr Modi.
Both the Chief Ministers are great administrators of their states and fall under the same political alliance of NDA where Narendra Modi is a strong contender from BJP as the Prime Ministerial candidate for NDA while Nitish Kumar from JDU has also emerged as a strong contender for the post,on behalf of NDA! Nitish Kumar has a secular image compared to Modi but has yet not gained as much popularity as Modi has , throughout the nation !
Well, the tug of Cold, Word-War may be because they are competitors. 🙂
USA Congressman Joe Walsh, a right wing conservative Republican has written a letter to Ms Hillary Clinton,Secretary of State, requesting her to consider granting a diplomatic visa to Mr Modi, attracting strong reactions from the Indian American Muslim community.
On 9th April, a Gujarat court confirmed that the SIT had found no evidence against Mr Modi or 57 others in a case based on the 2002 communal riots filed against them by Zakia Jafri, the wife of former Congress MP Ehsaan Jafri, who was killed by a rioting mob on February 28, 2002. While Mr Jafri’s wife claims that Mr Jafri had called the police control room and also Narendra Modi , who denied help, on the face.
Justice H Suresh, who was a part of a people’s fact-finding committee that travelled to Gujarat in May 2002, just months after communal violence, leaving 1200 people dead. The retired Bombay High Court judge has claimed that Mr Haren Pandya, the then Gujarat Home Minister, had told his panel that Mr Modi had asked policeman to give rioters a free hand. Justice Suresh is of the idea that Mr Pandya’s statement has been completely neglected by SIT. Incidently, Haren Pandya was stripped of his minister’s post ,soon after and was denied ticket to contest upcoming elections. In March 2003, he was murdered in his car while mysteriously!
No matter, what the judgement be, even the biggest supporter of Narendra Modi cannot deny a foul play.No matter, how great leader he has been, helping his state stand top as a financial hub, eyes cannot be closed towards the riots which had shaken the nation and the world, in 2002. His reluctance to help the victims of the riots cannot be denied. In a nation like ours, should there be a space for people against communal harmony , regardless they are great visionary political leaders or religious leaders ? The nation has hundreds of points of discrimination- by way of caste, tribe, religion, state and languages but only one reason to join hands – We are humans and then Indians before anyone else !
