PM Manmohan Singh called up the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha,Hamid Ansari, on Wednesday evening to express “distress” over BSP Supremo Mayawati’s allegations on the Chairman of dereliction of duty in the parliament.
Mayawati has warned the Central Govt of taking a tough stand if the govt does not pass the Quota Bill which would entitle reservations in promotions in govt jobs for Scheduled castes and tribes ! The same bill is being opposed by SP headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav. The conflict between Mayawati and Mulayam Singh has been refueled with the Quota Bill and its the UPA govt which is at the receiving end.
Expressing his assurance on FDI in retail which got approved by the parliament,Prime Minister,Dr Manmohan Singh said that FDI would benefit both the farmers and consumers and that the farmers organization in Punjab had strongly supported FDI in retail.
Well, forget about an average farmer, even half of the percentage of literate India cannot point out the exact benefit and demerit of Foreign Direct Investment in Retail Trade ! Can we ?
West Bengal chief minister,Mamata Banerjee, has approached the major opposition party of the Centre, the BJP, to ask them to support her party,TMC , in their efforts to bring a ‘ no-confidence motion’ against the UPA 2 govt in the upcoming Winter Session of the Parliament !
Congress,on the other-hand has had as many lunches and dinners as possible with Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav, chiefs of BSP and SP parties, respectively,to make sure the calculation of retaining the govt in power does not fall short, at any cost ! 😀
Safeguarding the govt against possible ‘No Confidence Motion’ in the upcoming winter session of the parliament, prime minister,Dr Manmohan Singh met Mulayam Singh, chief of SP, over dinner and Mayawati, chief of BSP,next day, over lunch!
The growing impact of regional parties has led to trend of coalition govts since decades, now.Central govts many a times, stand helpless in front of such allies and under all circumstances its the nation, the economy and the ‘aam aadmi'(common man) which suffer.
To have a better future,is it not time,India be ruled by a single-party?
About five months back Barack Obama was termed ‘Under-Achiever’ by OutLook Magazine while TIME had termed Manmohan Singh ,Indian PM, as the ‘Under-Achiever’.With Obama getting to serve the USA for another term, despite all criticisms, even Congress may be hopeful towards getting the third chance in India despite all criticisms.
Moun in Hindi means ‘Silent’ and thats how Gujarat CM prefers to address PM Manmohan Singh. No matter, what Mr Modi says about the PM,never has Manmohan Singh responded back in agitation, not only against Modi but anyone who has ever criticized Dr Singh for remaining speechless on all major issues related to the country.
Should he be appreciated for never involving himself in any verbal conflicts or be criticized that he genuinely has no answers to support the ills of his govt? 🙁
This time it is Union Minister of Rural Development,Jairam Ramesh, who has pissed off Mamata Banerjee, the Bengal Chief Minister. In one of her interviews,in the recent past, she had referred the Central Govt as ‘brain-dead’ and using the same as a sarcastic weapon,Jairam, while addressing an official letter to her.
Didi was irked to the level that she shared the letter on her facebook account terming the sarcastic statement as unconstitutional.
Well, when its Mamata Banerjee, you need to give it a thought before attacking her(even sarcastically),no matter even if you are a Union Minister ! 😉 Hopefully, this is a lesson for Jairam Ramesh !
