Mohammad Azharuddin, former Indian Captain was banned for life in 2000 for match-fixing and hence is out of list of BCCI’s one-time payment scheme. With Kapil Dev, the former Indian captain who enabled India win the first World Cup in 1983 , was also removed out of the list as he refused accept the amnesty offered by BCCI following his involvement in now-defunct Indian Cricket League which had nothing to do with BCCI.Kirti Azad who held protests at Feroze Shah Kotla ground against alleged financial irregularities in BCCI supported IPL(Indian Premiere League) is also excluded out of the list.
Addressing the media in Agra , Kapil Dev said it is up to Sachin to decide when to retire . However, he also marked that questions are raised only when the performance goes down. Previously, it was him who had declared it was time for Sachin to retire and he should have done it , before World Cup 2011 or before that.
Well, sudden change of opinion on Sachin, from the former Indian Team captain is shocking or may be he has sensed that Sachin may complete his 100th century , sometime soon, may be in the upcoming Asia Cup when the pitch would be of Bangladesh where Sachin’s record is fairly good!
