Indo-China border dispute.

Prime Minister,Manmohan Singh is in Phnom Penh from November 18-20, 2012 to attend the 10th ASEAN-India Summit and the 7th East Asia Summit.Meanwhile,Dr Singh met Chinese Premier, Wen Jiabao, there and discussed the issue of increasing India’s market access to China for IT, services and pharmaceuticals.

Indian Govt remains ignorant while Chinese continue penetrating deeper in Arunachal Pradesh

Indian and Chinese Govt Representatives talk about trade and bilateral relations, quite often but disputed border issues between both the countries never got discussed and this has led Indian govt to keep silent on Chinese intrusions taking place in the regions of Himachal Pradesh and several kilometers inside Arunachal Pradesh. China not only claims whole of Arunachal Pradesh but also parts of Himachal and in Arunachal they have developed roads as well while the Indian Central Govt seems least bothered on the issue and state govts seem helpless.

Question is are we scared of China and can’t do anything about the intrusions and if it is , then why do our Indian Maps on our school books misleading us while Google maps show Pakistan occupied Kashmir and China occupied Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh as a disputed land and not Indian land?

Just go to google images and type ‘Indian Map’ and you would be shocked to see the variations of Indian borders  or  on google images type ‘india map with disputed territories‘ and check the difference !

Click here for one such eg  Indian map which is so different from the one which we have seen since childhood.  🙁

when will we ask China to stop intrusion ?

China Warns India to keep out of South China Sea ?

China has warned India to stop oil-exploration in the South China Sea,calling it a disputed region. India has been carrying out  oil exploration project in the Vietnamese bloc which has huge oil and gas reserves, for commercial interests.

While the Chinese consider the exploration area as disputed and do not want India to take any commercial interest in the same , they themselves are carrying out infrastructural projects in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir(the disputed land between India and Pakistan).

Undoubtedly, the growing rift between India and China, the two super-powers of Asia, is a cause of concern where India and China have disputes over Indo-China border issues and Chinese claiming Indian support to Tibetan seperatists. Both India and China have been doing their share of preparations in the border areas(being ready for any minor conflict), in the recent past.Although,China is more powerful than India in terms of military strength and technology and the growing friendship of China and Pakistan is also a reason of concern for India, it would be too unlikely that any of the countries would like to get into a war. But the question is how long will China try to dictate its terms to India and India would answer back diplomatically? Is it not time, China be told to mind its own business? While India never questions their intimacy with Pakistan and their infrastructural investments in POK, why should they warn India on Chinese disputed lands ?
