After two Indian soldiers were killed and one of them was beheaded,India and Pakistan conflict on the Line Of Control has started.Pakistan alleges that Indian army had entered in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and killed one of Pakistani soldiers prior to the incident of Indian soldiers being brutally murdered and also denied any involvement.Amid statements from ministers from both the countries, the firing from both sides of the LOC has continued.’Aman Ki Asha’ the phrase which defined a fresh attempt by both the countries to improve relations with each other after the Kargil War has again suffered a major set back.
Urban India may not be taking these hate speeches made by political leaders against other religion, caste and state too seriously but is it the same with rural India where the literacy level is comparatively very low. It is not only easy to play vote bank politics by giving hate-speeches against specific communities and groups but also readily possible to provoke violence between groups.
Be it Raj Thackeray making speeches against Biharis or Akbaruddin Owaisi making speeches against Hindus,is their sole motive not vote-bank politics? With law in one pocket and few goons in other, there are several political leaders throughout the country who dare the unity of India and yet roam about freely, unquestioned and never accounted for.
It is Narendra Modi yet again who would be the Chief Minister of Gujarat fight all odds. Neither Keshubhai Patel splitting out of BJP nor Congress’ repeated secular mask could stop brand ‘MODI’ from being the chosen one yet again. Interestingly, constituencies which were muslim dominated, as well, voted in favour of BJP. While the win in Gujarat has not shocked the Congress yet managing a win with almost 2/3rd majority has clearly given Narendra Modi the topmost position in BJP and has fueled the debate of his candidature as the PM face for NDA for the upcoming 2014 General Elections.
All he brought was list of controversies , Pakistan’s Home Minister, Rehman Malik, where he compared 26/11 terror attacks to Babari Mosque demolition, stated that Abu Jindal was an Indian Agent and to top it denied enough proof from Indian government to hold ,26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed ,guilty! To add on,he has left Indian Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, humiliated with opposition asking why Shinde did not answer back when Malik was comparing 26/11 and Babari Mosque demolition and the media highlighting Shinde referring,Hafiz Saeed as ‘Shri’ and ‘Mr’ in the parliament. The question remains , what was the need of inviting Rehman Malik who has been popular for controversial statements and has delayed action against Pakistanis involved in 26/11 terror attacks and all the more when Pakistan is expecting a change of governance?
Mayawati has warned the Central Govt of taking a tough stand if the govt does not pass the Quota Bill which would entitle reservations in promotions in govt jobs for Scheduled castes and tribes ! The same bill is being opposed by SP headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav. The conflict between Mayawati and Mulayam Singh has been refueled with the Quota Bill and its the UPA govt which is at the receiving end.
