It is Narendra Modi yet again who would be the Chief Minister of Gujarat fight all odds. Neither Keshubhai Patel splitting out of BJP nor Congress’ repeated secular mask could stop brand ‘MODI’ from being the chosen one yet again. Interestingly, constituencies which were muslim dominated, as well, voted in favour of BJP. While the win in Gujarat has not shocked the Congress yet managing a win with almost 2/3rd majority has clearly given Narendra Modi the topmost position in BJP and has fueled the debate of his candidature as the PM face for NDA for the upcoming 2014 General Elections.
Sourav Ganguly has written a column on Sachin’s future and Dhoni’s workload.Well, while there is no denial,he is worth discussing about Sachin’s and Dhoni’s future, seems, no one is bothered about Ganguly’s future in Indian Cricket though he has expressed his desire many a times to be the coach of Team India.
After India has lost against England in the Test Series, there has been questions raised on Dhoni’s captaincy and Sachin’s unwillingness to retire!
All he brought was list of controversies , Pakistan’s Home Minister, Rehman Malik, where he compared 26/11 terror attacks to Babari Mosque demolition, stated that Abu Jindal was an Indian Agent and to top it denied enough proof from Indian government to hold ,26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed ,guilty! To add on,he has left Indian Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, humiliated with opposition asking why Shinde did not answer back when Malik was comparing 26/11 and Babari Mosque demolition and the media highlighting Shinde referring,Hafiz Saeed as ‘Shri’ and ‘Mr’ in the parliament. The question remains , what was the need of inviting Rehman Malik who has been popular for controversial statements and has delayed action against Pakistanis involved in 26/11 terror attacks and all the more when Pakistan is expecting a change of governance?
England broke 28 year old record of beating India in Test Series on Indian grounds and has also served critics of Dhoni’s captaincy to raise their voice, at least, against his Test Captaincy. Sunil Gavaskar, the veteran Indian cricketer, is of the view that its time Virat Kohli replace M.S.Dhoni .
Mr U.S.Mishra,former CBI director accused pressure from government particularly while he was handling former Uttar Pradesh CM,Maywati’s,disproportionate assets case.As expected the government has denied any such allegations and has blamed it on BJP which was in the government at the time when Mr Mishra was the director.BJP on the otherhand says it is the Congress government which controls the CBI(Central Bureau Of Investigation) and uses it against political opponents and to keep allies in check.
Opposition has accused Chief Minister of West Bengal , Mamata Banerjee, for insulting Bengal when she stated that if put for auction,no one would even bid for Bengal.Mamata Banerjee has been blaming the Left govt for the financial crises which the state is going through since TMC has taken over the governance !
M.S.Dhoni,the Team India captain, is of the idea that Gautam Gambhir is playing a self-centered game and has been bothered about his position in the Team and has not been playing keeping the interest of team in mind.Dhoni has lodged a complaint against Gautam Gambhir with the BCCI,regarding the same!
Well, is it just an excuse to divert criticisms against himself or a genuine feedback about Gambhir, only Dhoni knows but this clearly shows that the continued criticism of ‘Captain Cool’ and his captaincy has snatched away the peace of his mind and now he is in a defensive mood.Anyways,no one in Team India is Sachin Tendulkar that his position in Team India would be guaranteed for lifetime. 🙂
Mayawati has warned the Central Govt of taking a tough stand if the govt does not pass the Quota Bill which would entitle reservations in promotions in govt jobs for Scheduled castes and tribes ! The same bill is being opposed by SP headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav. The conflict between Mayawati and Mulayam Singh has been refueled with the Quota Bill and its the UPA govt which is at the receiving end.
Expressing his assurance on FDI in retail which got approved by the parliament,Prime Minister,Dr Manmohan Singh said that FDI would benefit both the farmers and consumers and that the farmers organization in Punjab had strongly supported FDI in retail.
Well, forget about an average farmer, even half of the percentage of literate India cannot point out the exact benefit and demerit of Foreign Direct Investment in Retail Trade ! Can we ?
