Well, the latest news cleared that despite Rawat’s revolt against Party’s decision to make Bahuguna the CM, the Congress Party remained stable on the decision and Vijay Bahuguna is now going to take oath as the CM in Dehradun, as per schedule. Rawat and his supporters are not going to attend the ceremony.
The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs, Harish Rawat, offered to resign from the Cabinet and wrote to Congress President Sonia Gandhi that he would like to work just as an ordinary worker, after Vijay Bahuguna was chosen to be the Chief-Minister over senior leaders, like himself. With rebels grown inside the party , Sonia Gandhi has called all the senior leaders and Vijay Bahuguna for a meeting in Delhi to sort the issue out. Rawat claims to be supported by 17 MLAs in Uttarakhand Assembly.
Chances of solution seem distant if Rawat continues to be stubborn on being made the CM and if that happens it would not only be embarrassing for the Congress Party but also for Vijay Bahuguna.
Vijay Bahuguna, the MP of Tehri Garhwal, brother of Rita Bahuguna Joshi who is the UP Congress Chief and the son of UP’s former chief minister H N Bahuguna, bagged the chair of Uttarakhand Chief-Minister as declared by G.S. Uttarakhand , Gulam Nabi Azad!
The analysis by Association for Democratic Reforms and National Election Watch reveals 35 % of the total 690 MLAs elected in 5 state-elections (Uttar Pradesh,Punjab,Manipur,Uttarakhand and Goa) have past criminal records of which obviously and as expected Uttar Pradesh tops the list and also 66% of the 690 MLAs are multi-millionaires !
Samajwadi Party’s Mitra Sen winning from Bikapur seat topped the list of MLAs with 36 criminal cases and Nawab Kazim Ali Khan of Congress from Suar constituency topped the list of crorepatis with a declared total assets worth Rs 56.89 crore and is raced by Shah Alam of BSP from Mubarakpur with assets worth Rs 54.44 crores.
Manipur is the only state where no candidates have any pending criminal case against their names!
It is tough to believe that our nation is run by goon turned political leaders, so much in number and yet we expect corruption to be abolished from the society. These informations should be made public in all constituencies prior to elections , probably only then we would be able to elect the right candidate to represent us as the leader!
Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi’s warning against Mamata Banerjee not to cross the “laxman rekha (boundary line)” of “coalition dharma” by attending the two swearing-in ceremonies, in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh may have held ‘didi’ back from attending these ceremonies. She was being invitied by Prakash Singh Badal, CM of Punjab and Akhilesh Yadav,CM Uttar Pradesh, to attend swearing-ceremonies to be held on 14th and 15th March respectively. Well there is a valid reason given as well by Mukul Roy, All India TMC general secretary that the Budget Session of the state is beginning on the 15th of the month and it is a parliamentary convention that chief minister should remain present in the House during the Governor’s speech on the opening day of the Assembly session.
On Feb14th 2012,replying to the questions of Special CBI judge, Lalu Prasad Yadav , the former Chief-Minister of Bihar ,allegedly involved in Rs900 crore plus of fodder-scam pleaded not-guilty and called it a political conspiracy. He stated CBI,under pressure had fabricated and acted against him.
After the victory of Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh and diminishing results of Congress and BJP , voices favouring a Third – Front is growing beyond whispers. The Congress is following each move by its allies, particularly the move of TMC.But the point is can groups of regional parties form a coalition government which can work in the interest of all states ? If UPA and NDA governments remain afraid on allies getting upset and asking for favours to keep the coalition intact what difference would a Third-Front make? It would be again alliance of groups, asking for favours in order to keep their support intact to the consortium!
Well, so far , since decades the alliance governments have been ruling , be it in the form of NDA or UPA , after all , they are alliances and the Third-Front concept is also not new but past reveals it has never been successful in Indian politics.
38-year-old, Akhilesh Yadav has been declared as the Chief Minister for Uttar Pradesh by Samajwadi Party. He would also be the youngest Chief-Minister of the State. Any guesses, why father Mulayam Singh Yadav , the much-anticipated candidate of the party opted out and allowed son Akhilesh to take charge ?
BJP, Congress and Media to be blamed for BSP defeat in Uttar Pradesh ?
Kumari Mayawati, now the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh , in her Press Conference , after resignation declared her defeat BJP and Congress as major reason of her party’s defeat as they helped polarisation of Muslim Vote Bank, as per her, which benefited the Samajwadi Party. Also she expressed that the Muslim voters were scared that BJP may gain power in the state hence they supported SP.
Well, BJP has been an under-dog in Uttar Pradesh and this is no hidden fact from the nation , forget about the state. The most shocking part has been that rather than blaming her own governance where scams got exposed and corrupt ministers were getting caught and to top it key people getting murdered while the enquiry kept deepening, she held other parties responsible for her defeat. The useless expense of multi-crores on Park and Statues seemed all right to her, guess ! As if people do not count on them. She also praised her government’s work comparing the condition in which BSP had taken charge of administration in 2007 and also assured media that soon people of the state would be fed up with SP which over-threw them with a massive majority win. She did not stop there and also calmly blamed the Media for hyping issues in favour of BJP and Congress and warned the media that soon voters would feel cheated by media for reporting in favour of Congress and BJP. She did not blame herself for stopping to held Janata Darbars which she used to during the initial days. She did not blame herself for not even meeting the officers in te administration for months.
