The fight for CM seat of Tamil Nadu and deepening of crises in AIDMK party is getting intensified with Panneerselvam vs Sasikala Natarajan both claiming the CM seat.
As Tamil Nadu faces the crises of CM, UP is preparing to elect CM again. The SP and Congress have joined hands while BJP has lack of leader face and Mayawati seems confident of getting the CM post yet again.
The Delhi High court has declared the ceremony of anointment of Shuban Bukhari as the successor of his father Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari as the Naib Imam of Jama Masjid has no legal sanctity. The Court has questioned the Waqf Board as to why they have not taken any action against the Imam and has issued notice to and sought responses of the Centre, Wakf Board and Imam Bukhari on the three PILs challenging the Imam’s decision to appoint his son as the Naib Imam. The Centre had said that Jama Masjid is a Wakf property and it has to decide how the rule of primogeniture applies on anointment of new Shahi Imam. The court, however, did not ask ‘stay’ the ceremony.
Yet another brutal incident of gang-rape and murder of two dalit sisters in Uttar Pradesh is making to the ‘Breaking News’. The bodies of the girls were found hanging on a tree. The state Govt put on question, got agitated on media while the opposition parties are trying to make most out of the gruesome incident by visiting victims’ family, offering condolences, announcing compensations and demanding CBI probe. Some are even taking the credit of CBI probe because of their intervention.
Reminds of SP supremo-Malayam Singh Yadav’s controversial remark on rapes where he said ‘boys make mistakes.Shouldn’t be hung.’ for rapists. In a state ruled by party of eminent thinkers and politicians like Mulayam Singh, is rape and murder ‘that big a deal’?
Akhilesh Yadav,CM of UP,said one needs a big heart and not a big chest in politics, retaliating to Gujarat’s CM, Modi’s statement that it takes 56 inches of chest for fearless leadership. Akhilesh said Modi has a 56 inches of belly and not chest.Other CM’s should hurry up!Only a few organs left to run the country. 😀 😀 😀
Muzaffarnagar , Uttar Pradesh, has been burning since last few days after hit by riots.Death toll as per news sites has gone as high as 48 and Curfew has been imposed on the area. The Opposition has been doing its duty of asking Akhilesh Yadav, the CM of UP,to resign. Congress has declared the riots as repetition of ‘2002 Gujarat Riots’. The govt,on the contrary , blames the communal forces for the riots.
Interestingly, the political parties keep playing blame games ,politicizing the moment for personal interests while the biggest sufferer is the common man in such situations.
The Akhilesh Yadav government made Ayodhya almost a fort with 8000 cops and also got hundreds of preventive arrests since yesterday to ensure that the VHP was unable to set off on a 300-km march through six districts to circle Ayodhya. The six UP districts that the VHP yatra would have traveled through have a decent Muslim population. The VHP, a wing of RSS demanding Ram Temple in the disputed area of Ayodhya has declared revival of the yatra from the coming month to gain support for the same. Praveen Togadia , the leader of VHP has been taken into preventive custody while anothe VHP leader , Ashok Singhal, has been detained at the Lucknow Airport.
This unsuccessful Yatra ,seem to have served its purpose- the Govt of UP showed how concerned it is about the security of Muslims ( a major source of its vote bank) and the VHP rekindling the Ram Temple issue may have revived BJP’s place in the minds of those few hardline Hindu voters who wish to see Ram Temple in the disputed area of Ayodhya.
