Shopping in 2030
With the planet turning into a global village – thanks to the internet and growing human population(which is extending the length and breadth of cities),not far are the days when ‘Online Shopping’ would be an absurd term.Yes absurd because by 2030 Shopping would mean ‘Online’ only. Malls may replace to museums to show the future generation what shopping meant few decades back and many be replaced by dwelling towers specially in densely populated Indian sub-continent.
Cash On Delivery schemes have made orthodox Indian buyers bend down to online shopping and that declares the future of shopping would be in the virtual space solely. From electronic gadgets to apparels, to jewelries, to used cars, to online tutorial class services, every product and service has a market online which is increasing with every day passing by.With technology reaching out to the lower earning strata of society in the form of Smart Phone with Internet facility and increasing traffic and jams on roads and decreasing spare time to window-shop physically, browsing online shopping sites would be a part of lifestyle by 2030.The trend is simply in and will make physical shopping a word of history books. By 2030 dictionary meanings of Malls and Departmental Stores may change to a hub of website links of branded products and services. Window Shopping may mean surfing online shopping websites (which is already becoming a trend). The possibilities are quite likely because:
- Online Window Shopping saves time, physical exertion, and embarrassment of being stared by the sales guys inside the glass walls.
- It saves expenses and cuts down on middlemen thereby making the cost of products and services cheaper therefore quality products at cheaper rates.
- Internet , laptops and smart phones the much needed things for Online Surfing are readily available at affordable prices.
2030 may be an era where Shopping may be entirely on the virtual space.
