PM Manmohan Singh called up the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha,Hamid Ansari, on Wednesday evening to express “distress” over BSP Supremo Mayawati’s allegations on the Chairman of dereliction of duty in the parliament.
Mayawati has warned the Central Govt of taking a tough stand if the govt does not pass the Quota Bill which would entitle reservations in promotions in govt jobs for Scheduled castes and tribes ! The same bill is being opposed by SP headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav. The conflict between Mayawati and Mulayam Singh has been refueled with the Quota Bill and its the UPA govt which is at the receiving end.
Expressing his assurance on FDI in retail which got approved by the parliament,Prime Minister,Dr Manmohan Singh said that FDI would benefit both the farmers and consumers and that the farmers organization in Punjab had strongly supported FDI in retail.
Well, forget about an average farmer, even half of the percentage of literate India cannot point out the exact benefit and demerit of Foreign Direct Investment in Retail Trade ! Can we ?
While 9 MPs of Samajwadi Party restrained from voting , 15 MPs of Bahujan Samaj Party voted in favour of the Foreign Direct Investment in Retail debate in the Rajya Sabha, giving the UPA govt a clear win over opposition which was against FDI in retail! It was again BSP Supremo ,Mayawati and SP Supremo,Mulayam Singh,(by keeping away from voting) who helped the govt secure Parliament approval on FDI in retail.

A senior citizen private contractor was repeatedly slapped by a MNS corporator ,Nitin Nikam, publicly. He was hit for delays in water pipeline repair and the party argued that the private contractors do no do their work properly despite taking public money.Mr Nikam argued that the act of slapping was the ‘MNS way’ to explain things when people do not listen to talks! The party has not seeked any apology for the public display of ‘MNS way’by its corporator. No one opposed the act be other political parties or the police or govt !
Well, who dares against MNS or Shiv Sena in Mumbai ? Hope not the MNS style of explaining get more popular than Gangnam Style of dancing. 🙂
Telecom Minister,Kapil Sibal’s website ‘www.kapilsibalmp.com’ was hacked and the contents were altered to show the minister in poor light. The hacker group claimed it as a revenge against internet censorship.

The growing differences between BSY and his party within the last year came public when Yeddyurappa had favoured Pranab Mukherjee, the Congress Presidential Candidate, over his party’s choice,Jaswant Singh. He had also praised Sonia Gandhi’s political skills, leaving people speculate if Congress was his next option.Previously,July 5th was the date set by Yeddyurappa and his followers in the party to remove Gowda, the acting CM in Yeddyurappa’s absence as Yeddy was defending himself in the court of law against Scam allegations. Two editors of Zee News Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia got arrested and were sent to two-day police custody, in the ‘Jindal Extortion Case’.Industrialist Naveen Jindal has alleged them of trying to extort money from him to suppress news against Jindal Group.Jindal Groups’ officials had done a sting operation on Zee News editors trying to negotiate a deal to suppress the news.Soon,Naveen Jindal released the video in public and filed a case against Zee News. This has ignited the debate over whether there is a need for regulation of the media. Paid news is becoming a shameful fact of journalism and news reporting and the Media is surely going through a Credibility Crises because after all even Media Houses are running their show for monetary benefits.Who can assure the Media Houses do not manipulate the truth ?
In a country like ours where corruption has penetrated inside day-to-day life of commoners, can the Media be spared without scrutiny ?
‘Aam Aadmi Party’ the newly formed Indian poliical party by activist turned politician,Arvind Kejriwal, who would also be the convener of the ‘AAP’. Introducing, the Aam Aadmi Party at the Jantar Mantar,Delhi, amidst his supporters, Kejriwal confirmed his party would work to eradicate ‘Corruption’ in the country at all levels !
Regardless,’Aam Aadmi Party’ be successful in 2014 Elections,at least, the country has some hope intact. Congress has got enough chance since independence,BJP does not seem that promising and a Third-Front formed by several small parties has always been a disaster in the past.
