President Pratibha Patil’s Foreign Travel Expenses Rs 205 crore ?

Series of RTI applications have disclosed that the first woman President of the nation has undertaken 12 foreign trips covering 22 countries across four continents since assuming office on July 2007 and has another 4 months of office and a trip to South Africa, to travel.Interestingly,her traveling expenses are the highest among all other presidents of India,so far.

Afridi apologises after the Karachi Airport Brawl!

‘Boom Boom Afridi’ as he is popularly called for his speedy run making abilities ended up roughing up with fans , infront of the camera , after he noticed his 3 year-old daughter being pushed by a fan , just to reach out to Afridi for an autograph. A protective and caring father ended up attacking the fan with punches,slaps and kicks,until he was stopped by his brother. After the incident , Afridi apologized for the shameful act but also clarified his reasons for losing his temper. Pakistani team was returning back home after the Asia Cup win and Afridi’s daughter along with family members was there to recieve him at the Karachi Airport.

Again,Congress Stands Tough Against Anna ?

Congress Spokesperson Rashid Alvi declared Anna can fast as much but lokpal bill and the laws regarding the same would be made and passed by the parliament and not by any individual(Anna).

In the past,Government has been able to control Team Anna agitation ,quite successfully and the fading impact of Anna and his team – members , including acquisitions made on key members of Team Anna, has given the Government the confidence that Anna is no more a threat to them.However,politics is as unpredictable as the game of cricket and it may be possible that, today’s fast and protest , headed by Anna again,would bring his popularity back!

Sachin Tendulkar , the batting legend,fondly called master-blaster, took a little long but completed his 100th century in the Asia Cup 2012 , against Bangladesh and henceforth has been able to answer the critics who would want him to retire and were accusing him of being selfish and record-oriented. In an interview today, he declared, no one should tell him when to retire and that he is a better person himself to decide the same!

China Warns India to keep out of South China Sea ?

China has warned India to stop oil-exploration in the South China Sea,calling it a disputed region. India has been carrying out  oil exploration project in the Vietnamese bloc which has huge oil and gas reserves, for commercial interests.

While the Chinese consider the exploration area as disputed and do not want India to take any commercial interest in the same , they themselves are carrying out infrastructural projects in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir(the disputed land between India and Pakistan).

Undoubtedly, the growing rift between India and China, the two super-powers of Asia, is a cause of concern where India and China have disputes over Indo-China border issues and Chinese claiming Indian support to Tibetan seperatists.Both India and China have been doing their share of preparations in the border areas(being ready for any minor conflict), in the recent past.Although,China is more powerful than India in terms of military strength and technology and the growing friendship of China and Pakistan is also a reason of concern for India, it would be too unlikely that any of the countries would like to get into a war. But the question is how long will China try to dictate its terms to India and India would answer back diplomatically? Is it not time, China be told to mind its own business? While India never questions their intimacy with Pakistan and their infrastructural investments in POK, why should they warn India on Chinese disputed lands ?

Anna’s fast- ‘against Deaf and Dumb Govt’?

Amidst heavy security of cops (1000 plus), started the one-day fast of Anna Hazare against the ‘deaf and dumb’ government which he claimed has kept his eyes closed on people fighting against corruption. Anna said , had the Lokpal Bill been introduced by the government, people may not have lost lives fighting against mafias and corrupt system.

Delhi Police prepares for Anna’s 25 March protest at Jantar Mantar ?

1000 plus cops will be deployed at Jantar Mantar, following the one day, fast-protest led by Anna Hazare against the killings and attacks on whistle-blowers of corruption.Young IPS officer , Narendra Kumar’s alleged killing by coal-mafia in Madhya Pradesh is the leading reason along with other killings and attacks.40 families of sufferers of such incidents will join Anna at Jantar Mantar protest and this includes father of  Narendra Kumar as well.

Barack Obama interrupted while making a speech?

An individual, holding a book for US president, Barack Obama, kept interrupting him while he was speaking on Energy Policies , in Columbus , Ohio. It continued till President Obama asked the heckler to stop interrupting and asked his men to collect the book from the man, which he was intending to handover to the president. Barack Obama promised to read the book.

This should be a lesson for protesters in our country, who may not be able to interrupt speeches of politicians but show black flags,throw black ink or even sandals and shoes to express emotions and are taken into custody.
