Looks like fasts against governments do not bother Indians !! So far, all fasts,in the recent past have failed and Kejriwal, the activist turned politician who is also diabetic, has lost 7 kgs in 11 days indicating even this fast would fail. Arvind Kejriwal is on a fast against inflated water and electricity bills in Delhi. While the party claims there have been lakhs of people signing the ‘ bijli-paani satyagrah ‘pledge,it looks like nothing would actually change.Kejriwal has pledged people not to pay their power bills(and everyone else would pay the bills except for him, I suppose). With the summers knocking the door who would risk a permanent power and water cut? The Delhi government inspired by its counterpart at the Centre (after all they are the same political party) and the Prime Minister , prefers remaining deaf ears while Kejriwal’s detoriating health may soon put him off the fast .
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister,Sheila Dikshit had her birthday celebrated by party members on 31st March and was seen enjoying a chocolate cake on the occasion ! 😉
Veteran actor Manoj Kumar filed a lawsuit against superstar Shah Rukh Khan and film producers Eros International in a Mumbai court today seeking damages over certain scenes in 2007 film Om Shanti Om, which lampooned him. The film was recently released in Japan with the scenes intact. While , Manoj Kumar has asked for a compensation of Rs 100 crores for the scenes in the movie which he considered was insulting him and also declared he had nothing personal against King Khan but he cannot take his insult!
Well, reminds of SRK’s(Shah Rukh Khan) last release -“Jab Tak Hai Jaan” where he plays the role of a bomb-diffusing army guy who used to diffuse all bombs unhurt. How will he diffuse the “Bharat Kumar Rs 100 cr court case bomb” ? 😉
Coming April 9, Gujarat’s CM, Narendra Modi is scheduled to address industrialists in Kolkata and his party had planned a reception that evening for him at the city’s famous Netaji Indoor Stadium, which can seat over 10,000 people. While the stadium initially told it was free suddenly backed-off siting preoccupation by a private party, leaving BJP party workers helpless. The state President of BJP,Rahul Sinha, wrote to the Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee , who said she could not help .
Is this a beginning of tussle between two aggressive leaders and Chief Ministers of India ?
