Addressing close to 600 women from self-help groups in Assam’s Jorhat Congress Vice President,Rahul Gandhi got a surprise kiss on cheek and forehead by one of the women while shaking hands.
Well….now who says answering ‘women empowerment’ to almost all questions asked by Arnab Goswami was that bad an answer given by Rahul Gandhi?
Finance Minister P Chidambaram is of the view that the UPA govt has achieved highest growth rate in any five-year period. He also doubts the economic understanding of BJP’s PM candidate, Narendra Modi and his claim of India can grow at 10 percent in present times.
While Finance Minister’s claims cannot be questioned as he mostly has his figures right and it is normally that India grows better on govt papers only. However,he might have skipped to mention the significant growth in the fields of Corruption and Inflation in UPA’s regime,so far,has been felt by every Indian.
The Supreme Court has restrained the state of Tamil Nadu from releasing the three prisonersserving life-term for killing former Indian PM,Rajiv Gandhi till March 6.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also expressed his discomfort on Tamil Nadu govt’s decision of freeing the assassins terming it ‘against the principles of justice’.
49 days of governance by the the newly born political party AAP is all over the news channels. Some criticizing the party and the supremo,Arvind Kejriwal, for resigning suddenly and some claiming this very step a game-changer in the upcoming General Elections. Both the BJP and Congress stood tall against the Jan Lokpal Bill even being introduced in the House. This gave AAP a major reason to surrender the governance of the Union Territory,Jan Lokpal being one of AAP’s major agendas. In the past,Kejriwal had promised Lokpal in 10 days if elected.
Is Kejriwal playing real smart politics or is he taking random decisions, remains a mystery,so far.
After Telangana Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha, expelled Congress MP, L Rajagopal used pepper spray in the House, leading to chaos and violence.Papers were torn amid altercations both verbal and physical.MP Rajagopal had to be rescued by watch and ward staff after other members attacked him for spraying.Only 16 MPs were suspended, this session. 😉
Violence in Indian Parliament is no more Breaking News these days.Abusive languages, shouting on top of eachother, breaking chairs and tables, tearing clothes and papers are now considered normal parliamentarian mannerism. But the use of pepper spray has given this mannerism a new vision and hope.We may soon expect more action and use of more sophisticated weapons being used by our leaders in ‘self-defense’. 😉
Buffaloes stolen from the well protected farmhouse of UP’s number two minister (in terms of power) , Azam Khan, were finally tracked down after a massive cop hunt (along with sniffer dogs) was launched across the district. The VIP animals were happily grazing back home by Sunday.Interestingly, three cops are removed on charges of ‘dereliction of duty’. 😀 This is called prompt action! 😉
Our Politicians and Police Officers make us feel so proud. They are so sensitive about animals.Lets pray, some day soon, they feel the same way for we humans too.
A fabulous take by Purnendu Singh of MutinousIndian.in on this is worth a read. 🙂
Vinod Kumar Binny , the expelled AAP leader,JDU MLA Shoaib Iqbal and Independent MLA Rambeer Shokeen have threatened to pull the AAP govt down in the national capital if their demands were not met.
There is lot of balancing the Arvind Kejriwal govt will have to do in order to retain governance. Is it not the same old politics in a new package ?
Delhi CM and AAP Chief, Arvind Kejriwal disclosed a list of 24 “India’s Most Corrupt” politicians which includes big political names like Rahul Gandhi,Kamal Nath,Kapil Sibal,Nitin Gadkari .As it happens in such cases, it attracted ‘defamation case’ warnings too. While some politicians were still threatening, Nitin Gadkari of BJP has already sent Kejriwal a legal notice asking him to apologize.
Isn’t 24 too less a number in the list of Most Corrupt Politicians ? After all,its about the reputation of our politicians who have made trillions ‘serving the nation’. 😉
