Politicizing Uttarakhand Tragedy

On my recent doodle on Uttarakhand Tragedy and its subsequent politicization, one of my regular visitor Vijay Ji (owner of Β COMBOUPDATES blog ),made a comment which was so appropriate on the tragedy and the subsequent political developments due to that. I would like to highlight his comment here-“Mysay the vultures are always in hunt for the carcass.“, as his statement is the sole inspiration to this yet another toon on the continued tragedy of the stranded pilgrims are facing, after the floods.Water and Food is being sold to them for unbelievably high prices and sustenance till the rescue team reaches them is becoming difficult. Inhuman behavior from politicians was not a shocker but how about the locals ?

thanks Indrani .. at times it takes days for one thought and at times … there are dozens knocking the door of the brains and forcing to come out on paper πŸ™‚

Humanity has gone for a toss…Sometimes I feel we Indians have completely lost it…On one hand we go miles on pilgrimages ( I have no clue why?) and keep fasts ( Again a bogus practice according to me) but have nothing humane within us… Horrible! Even after such a tragedy all we seem to care about is scoring points and money!!

Again a very poignant post from you!

facts is we are hypocrites of a class.. In the name of religion make us travel 100s of miles and ask us to sell our houses or stay starving for days .. and then we are the same bunch who would go about monetizing people’s sorrow and crises πŸ™
Feels sad ! Why blaming the politicians alone .. look at the commoners πŸ™

I was just thinking about the politics and war of words between various politicians and your post came… Do not know will they ever come out of these kind of hypocrisy? I doubt.

Nice post and as usual… perfectly captured the sentiments.

I guess every body wants make a hay when Sun shines. Probablys, the locals know this is the only chance to make some money, since there won’t be any visitors in coming 2-3 years.

true that Doc and inhuman as well !! for a safe tomorrow if a politician or a businessman loots us .. we wont call it fare .. and same is with the locals who are looting the pilgrims in crises

This is soo tragic ..humanity has lost it virtue .. in the time of need and such catastrophe .. people still are not ashamed to earn quick bucks .. what a shame ……. Well portrayed Mysay .. admire you uniqueness …

    1. My Say

Aazi .. we need to learn being human before its a lost game .. someone’s crises ..others’ opportunity .. alas .. this should discontinue … πŸ™
      Thanks for the admiration brother.

thanks a ton Jitendra .. your words are motivating .. for continuing to have my say on issues that matter .. on behalf of lives who have been going through the pain !!
      Thanks again !

I am not surprised by the looting…coz even when there are no calamities the shop keepers ,rickshaw wallahs loot the common man…everybody wants to make a quick buck …but among these few nuisances there are people like the army and the Sikh community who have come forward and saved the day!!

    1. My Say

Truely Rahel, its not all bad world .. I have heard army Jawans and Art Of Living people and many NGOs going out of the way to help victims out of the mess ..
Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts !! Appreciate it πŸ™‚

Beautifully depicted! a man shows his true colours only at times of need and this tragedy is a great example of the same! While the victims suffer, the world takes advantage!

    1. My Say

Wish it was restricted to politics only Sonia .. the locals also exploited the victims in crises as the media claims!
Have we lost humanity deep within? Chalta hai .. Hota hai .. mentality of Indians has brought the country to this level.
Pilgrim spots at such high-altitudes and during rainy seasons should have had some backing to meet up such crises situation !!
Bombs blast.. floods devastate … droughts kill.. but India is always prepared for all this and never ready with a back-up plan to counter or stop such incidents -man made or natural !!

The people have to suffer when the prove to be avaricious. Even when caught in the woes of a disaster, they have not forgotten to move in for the kill. A unique theme that has otherwise made us heavy with sorrow.
