Woman on Indefinite Fast-Offers Rs 15 crore dowry to Rahul Gandhi !

A woman named Om Shanti Sharma has been sitting on an indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar since July 9, and has taken a maun-vrata(vow of silence). The placard placed behind her  reads, ‘Rahul Gandhi se apni beti ke rishtey ki maang'( I demand my daughter getting married to Rahul Gandhi). Reports say that she has offered a dowry amount of Rs 15 crore to Rahul.

Mumbai Potholes replace Maternity Wards ?

No matter how much annoyed Mumbai is with the potholes on its roads, there never seems to be a solution to the problem since ages.With the monsoons hitting the city, the matter turns worse. But seems not all is bad about those bumpy ride of Mumbai streets packed with traffic and potholes. They seem to have replaced the Maternity Homes, at least in two incidents,in a month’s time. Two women have given birth while on their way to the maternity homes, crossing the stretch of potholes, boarded in auto-rickshaws. Astonishingly, the doctor claims(in the recent case) that the bumpy ride allows easy delivery of baby without putting much pressure on the womb !

Well, seems like Mumbaikers have got a reason to cherish the existence of the annoying potholes of the streets ! 🙂

P Chidambaram mocks at Common Man ?

Home Minister,P Chidambaram’s statement on common man – “we are prepared to pay Rs 15 for a bottle of water, but we can’t bear to pay Re 1 more of 1 kg of rice or wheat, we are prepared to pay Rs 20 for an ice cream cone, but we can’t pay Re 1 more for one kilo of wheat or rice” has been criticized by opposition party BJP who believe Chidambaram does not understand common man’s problems !

Well, rice and wheat is consumed on a daily basis hence even an increase of a Rupee would affect every concerned household compared to the cost of ice-creams and bottled-water which are consumed less frequently.

Supreme Court dismisses dis appropriate assets and corruption case against Mayawati ?

The judges said that the CBI was not justified in filing the case against Mayawati and pointed the case as illegal and without jurisdiction. In 2002, the Supreme Court had ordered the CBI to investigate the Taj Corridor case where she was accused of swindling money meant for development of Taj and surrounding areas and later cancelled on environmental grounds. While the CBI filed a case accusing her of misusing her post as CM for monetary gain, the Income Tax department ruled in her favour and the Delhi High Court too! Mayawati’s declared assets in 2003 Rs 1 crore which increased to 50 crores in 2007 and 200 crores in 2012. Mayawati expressed the money has been donated to her by workers of her party!
