Today, P A Sangma finally submitted his resignation to his party(National Congress Party) co-founder Sharad Pawar which has been accepted. Although he has taken a great risk by declaring to contest against UPA supported Pranab Mukherjee,as her daughter who is a serving minister in UPA government may be asked to quit the post and he himself quit NCP. BJP on the other hand knows NDA has parties like JD(U) and Shiv Sena who are backing Pranab Mukherjee and it would be tough to make Sangma win as the present status reveals UPA has better numbers favouring Pranab Mukherjee. It is upto BJP to give tough contest to Congress supporting Sangma, as he has the support of BJD and ADMK. TMC of UPA which has already declared they do not support Pranab can also be of help to Sangma. Whatever the result be , BJP being the biggest opposition ideally should put up a contest supporting Sangma !
